End of the School Year Party: We will be having our end of the school year party on the last day of school, May 25th. We will be posting sign-up sheets outside our room soon for volunteers (finger print clearance only), food/water donations, and money for pizza.
Last Dollar Dress Down: We will be having dollar dress down on Thursday and Friday next week to collect more money for our end of the school year party. As long as your child brings in a dollar each morning, they may dress down on both Thursday and Friday.
Mrs. Molina will be hosting LPA’s annual Night of the Arts, on Friday, May 12th, from 6-8 p.m. There will be a talent show, art show, and poetry installation and reading. Artwork from all grades will be showcased!
We have sent home our last family project of the year. Your child will be doing an animal research project on the animal of their choice. Once they have picked an animal, they cannot change it. We encourage parents to work with their student to complete this project. You may use the internet and books from the public library to complete this assignment. This project will be part of your child’s fourth quarter grades in language arts, science, and writing. It will be due on May 15th.
We are already halfway done with the 4th Quarter!!! Progress reports will be sent home Friday, so keep an eye out for them!
Reminder: There is no school on Friday, April 14th and Monday, April 17th. Enjoy your break!
With the end of the year approaching, so is our end of the year celebration for 1st grade! Any monetary donations toward this would be greatly appreciated. You could give this to your classroom teacher to be put in the classroom fund to be used for this. There will be games, food, etc. for the students. This will take place during the last week of school :0)
As the year goes on the spelling words get harder, please make sure spelling words are studied each week to help ensure student success! Spelling grades are part of determining Honor Roll, so study those words and get those grades up! A new quarter is a fresh start!
Our field trips to the Botanical Gardens will be next week (Thies and Parker’s classes go Monday, Elliott and Trovarello’s classes go on Tuesday). Please make sure your child has a bag lunch, and they are wearing their field trip t-shirts with jeans and sneakers!
